The Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service, Inc. recognize the importance of protecting the personal information you provide at web sites owned by the RIAR and MLS.  For RILiving.com (herein referred to as the “Site”), below is outlined the following privacy policy:

1. We gather the following types of information needed to process certain user requests, including the  creation of an RILiving user account, property inquiries, complete the purchase of on-line services and maintain related records:

  • Contact information you provide (for example, your email addresses, phone numbers, etc.);
  • Tracking information which our web server automatically recognizes each time you visit one the Site or communicate with us by e-mail (for example, your domain name, your e-mail address, and what pages you visit); and
  •  Information you volunteer, via applications or surveys (for example, education, affiliations with other real estate organizations and general demographic data).

2. We may use this information to:

  • Improve and customize the content and layout of the Site and other communications tools
  • Track usage of the Site
  • Improve current products, services and related training
  • Develop new products and member services

3. We do not share, sell or trade e-mail addresses or otherwise provide other information about you to third parties, except for when required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the personal safety of our members or the public.

4. Personal and account information that you and credit authorizers provide when you make payments by credit card or electronic check for products and services offered on the Site will only be used to process the transactions you request.

5. We maintain security procedures and standards which we believe are as safe as today’s technology permits. We test these procedures and modify them regularly as new technologies become feasible.

6. You may edit your personal contact information directly by accessing the user profile feature or for subscribing REALTORS®, by contacting the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® membership department.

7. Specific areas of the Site contain advertising placed by third-party vendors pursuant to agreements between the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® and the advertising vendor. We do not control the sites of third parties reached through links on the Site or their information collection practices and the Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service, Inc. will not be responsible for the activities of these third parties. The advertising vendor may use cookies to collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you click on the ads appearing on the Site. This information may be collected by the advertising vendor for purposes of measuring and reporting on the use of said advertising, and may also aggregate the information for certain other statistical and reporting purposes.

RILiving.com adheres to the guidelines of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising, and has implemented opt-out procedures in accordance with those organizations’ programs. Some of our advertising service providers may also be members and offer an opt-out of behavioral advertising.
