The Travers House is a ca 1879 George Champlin Mason designed historical treasure. This recipient of the Doris Duke Preservation award is an rare survivor of a period of Newport history. For much of the 20th century this architectural gem has been used as a shop, apartment house, tavern and office and was meticulously restored in 2005. A few details of of this treasure include, vaulted ceilings, gas fireplaces, Dutch doors, numerous priceless chandeliers and all surrounded by the International Tennis Hall of Fame and the Travers block. The possibilities are endless in this prime Bellevue Ave and Memorial Blvd intersection.
