Realtors Release Second Quarter Sales Statistics

Warwick, RI…July 25, 2018 – The Rhode Island Association of Realtors and State-Wide Multiple Listing Service released second quarter Rhode Island home sales statistics today. At $280,000, the median price of single-family homes sold from April through June was the highest quarterly price in 11 years. The median is the point at which half the homes sell for more and half sell for less.

Median Price of R.I. Single-Family Homes Hits $290K in June

Warwick, RI – July 20, 2018 – The median price of single-family home sales continued to climb in June, rising to $290,000 according to the latest monthly sales report from the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. The price reflects the highest monthly median price since July of 2006 and is just 2.8 percent less than the highest monthly median price on record. The median sales price has risen steadily since December of 2017. June’s median represents a 5.5 percent increase since June of last year.

May Median Price Hits Ten+ Year High in R.I.s Housing Market

Warwick, RI – June 20, 2018…The median price of single-family homes sold in Rhode Island reached $275,000 last month, a ten percent increase over May of 2017. Rhode Island has not reached a higher monthly median sales price since August 2007 according to a report released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors® and its subsidiary, State-Wide Multiple Listing Service.

R.I.’s Housing Market Shows Strong Price Gains in First Quarter

Warwick, R.I. – April 25, 2018…The Rhode Island Association of Realtors reported that the median price of single-family home sales increased 9.7 percent from the first quarter of 2017 to $252,250. Nineteen hundred and thirty-eight (1938) homes sold last quarter, down from 1982 sales in the first quarter of last year. Single-family home sales activity fell or stayed the same year over year in all but 17 of the 40 districts measured.

Strong Price Gains in March in R.I.’s Housing Market

Warwick, RI -- April 19, 2018 – Home sales data released today by the Rhode Island Association of Realtors portray significant year-over-year price gains in March, particularly among single-family and multifamily home sales. The median sales price of single-family home sales was the highest monthly price reached in the first quarter since 2007. The median of $265,000 represented a 13 percent increase from 12 months earlier.

Passage of FY 2018 Spending Bill Critical Step for Affordable Housing Funding and Flood Re-authorization

U.S. House and Senate negotiators last night agreed on an “omnibus appropriations bill” designed to fund the federal government through September 30, 2018. The 2,232-page bill contains important provisions related to housing that Realtors® have been fighting for, including alleviating the weakening of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) from the new tax law, and extending the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
