Since rental properties are not in MLS, how do they get posted to RILiving?

Rental properties are unlike “for sale” properties in that are not always under an exclusive contract with a listing agent, not entered into the MLXchange system and are not regulated by the rules and regulations of MLS.  However, acknowledging that a number of Members also list rental property and that not every RILiving visitor wishes to purchase a property, a separate classified ad-type service was created.  Placing a rental property ad is free and can be performed by following these steps:

To post a rental property on RILiving:

1. Select the "Log In" link found on the top-right-corner of RILiving.com. Note to IE 8 users: If you get a box that pops up with a security warning, please answer NO to this question.
2. Select "REALTOR" and enter your MLS Member log-in information (see image below).
   
   
   
   
   
3. Select the "Rentals" tab
   
4. Select the "Create Rental" button
   
   
5. Complete or edit the necessary fields, adding a virtual tour link or photo if desired
6. Choose an expiration date for your rental ad (must be within 30 days of entry date)
7. Select the "Preview" button
8. If the ad appears correct, choose "Save" to post - if incorrect, select "Edit" and make the necessary corrections and complete Step 7 & 8 again.

* Note – Similar steps would be used to revise an existing ad, add/change the rental photo, extend an expiring rental ad and inactivate an active ad.
