Certified Exclusive Buyer Agent (CEBA)
CEBA designation is conferred by NAEBA (National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents) upon its members who have completed a rigorous training and education process requiring a minimum of two years to complete. In order to qualify candidates must attend ten modules of formal classroom instruction. Each course is taught by a recognized expert in the respective disciplines. Included among the modules are courses in real estate agency, contracts, the art of negotiating, ethics, real estate finance, and reducing transaction risk. To receive credit for classroom instruction, candidates must pass a comprehensive written test for each course. In addition to formal education, CEBA candidates must have practiced as exclusive buyer agents for a minimum of two years and prove that they have successfully completed no less than 25 transactions on behalf of buyer clients. NAEBA also requires that CEBA designees use their expertise and knowledge to improve the real estate industry in general. This requirement may be fulfilled by serving for a minimum of two years in volunteer positions within NAEBA or other trade organizations. Candidates also may earn credit by completing requirements for other real estate educational designations
